ABOUT.
Nervous hands wring as far as they will go. A tall man turns as far away as he can to hide his face without fleeing the scene. His mouth worries in a line, his words stuttering. And yet his shaking stops the moment he picks up the medic's knife. His words turn assured the moment he is called for, determination overtaking fear. His watery eyes turn crystalline, ruby red.

Hidden strength may be the best term to describe him. Yah-rek, he says, introducing himself, don't be scared. As if anyone could be scared of such a docile deer of a man, but the assurance comes with every stranger. There's a reason, but few know it. He'd rather none knew it. As a royal physician his speciality is, quote, 'making sure I don't fall apart too often.' Tau jokes, but Jarek takes his duty very seriously. Moments of iron in his woolly sheep's sadness; he doesn't let Tau off the hook, pushes him into procedures, refuses to let him go by without checkups. He smiles when his cousin's arm slings around his shoulder. He nods. There's iron- lots of it.

He writes. Medical journals, notes, always a thousand notes scattered in his coat pockets, in his room, everywhere he's been there's his cute little script, swirly letters. Notes to get more bandages, more flowers, need to try a new blend of tea, have to write about the butterfly he saw yesterday. He keeps a diary, on his person, written to his mother. He's going to show her, one day, everything he's done. He's going to set her free, you'll see. When he can. When the time's right. When he knows he can get her away from her old life safely, and somewhere she'll be happy.

• Enjoys sweet, milky tea.
• Over time, has grown used to Dana's fiery temper and yelling; although it's not unusual to find her reprimanding him, whilst he nods as the woman half his height.
• Has a sharp wit which he rarely reveals. He's just too shy to talk to most people.
• Loves animals very much.
• A bit freaked out by Bastion, who knows his heritage and is displeased by it.
