Do not accept help from a stranger in the woods when in a hurt or sick state.

Especially if that stranger is adorned with jewelry made of dried weeds and brown beads, wearing a long, brown trench-coat, and a plague doctor's mask beneath a rumpled brown hood... If that stranger's tan skin is splattered with dark, inky bruise-like stripes and rather gross welts and blisters. Please calmly decline her offer, no matter how convincing or tempting she may seem. No matter how dire your situation.


They are cursed with a quickly-progressing pestilence unknown to mankind or any being but herself. It is a disease of her own design, with a cure so specific that none could ever figure it out in time to avoid their inevitable death. It first causes hallucinations, vivid dreams, and confusion. It prevents you from ever leaving the forest. You then with experience sharp aches and pains. Your skin will blister and bleed, grow black wherever you comply to the vicious urge to scratch. You will then vomit until your body is empty of any sustenance. You grow itchy all over. You cannot resist the urge to scratch. Everywhere your body has turned splotchy black will lose all connection with your brain, all of your nerves slowly dying until you are paralyzed. You eventually are unable to move-- the itching remains until you either starve or are eaten by the wildlife.
