Who has time for taking care of eggs and hatchlings when there's science to be done? The Windhover clan long ago decided that individual dragons had much better things to do... so they brought in Ovata to tend the babies. She doesn't mind, much... though she wishes the others weren't so reluctant to let her in on their secrets.

Luckily, since Harmon, grandson of Sarnath, picked Ovata to be his mate, she's been included in many more of the clan's discussions. She's seen the great Rune Clock once or twice, and been told all of the terrible secrets involved in its making. After all, how can she train the babies in their family heritage if she doesn't know it herself?

Lately, Ovata's been working on a rather devious project of her own: a device to collect and store the ambient electricity given off Lightning dragon eggs. If successful, hatchlings could contribute to the clan's efforts before they are even born... but Ovata knows she must proceed carefully, or risk harming the embryos inside.
AH! I finally got the hatchday I was looking for!
