Though many of the older dragons in her old clan were aware of the circumstances regarding her parents, the knowledge of her inbred status was kept hidden from her.It was only when she tried to start a family with the dragon she loved that she learned the truth. Having had no success at breeding, Ambra and her mate approached the clans oracle, asking for help; the brusque dragon then informed the hopeful pair of her infertility, the result of inbreeding. Horrified and ashamed she turned to look at the one she loved, only to find him staring at her with revulsion and disgust. She pleaded that she didn't know, but he would hear nothing of it, shunning her.

Her life got worse afterwards; the other of her age shunning and shaming the young dragoness. No matter how she tried to assist, the clan turned their back on her. Eventually, she fled, full of despair and self loathing she travelled as far away as she could.
