Rarely do Shadow dragons crave sunshine so dearly, but Hausos is an obvious exception. She is brimming with spirit and strength, eager to show Sornieth her boundless energy and desire, and perhaps a little too unaware of her own strength to do so just yet. Her parents and siblings have tried to caution her against charging headlong into adventure and glory, but she still blazes forward, called by some invisible thread that spirals out somewhere into the universe. It must be her Search, she thinks, even though she is young. It absolutely must be.

But there are obstacles to the Search, namely her own abilities.

Hausos has the incredible and dangerous ability to harness the power of the sun and expel it from her own body. The last dragon to compare her to a plant was brutally broiled in his own scales until Hausos realized what she was capable of. Her powers gave her a fright that day, but since then, she has worked on mastering the sheer strength of the light and heat she can exude. With no one to instruct her in how to go about this, she has begun to assume herself an expert, and slowly her arrogance is consuming her.

Other dragons have wondered if Hausos's strengths could be harnessed for the good of Sornieth. Perhaps her brilliance could even combat the encroaching Shade. Yet so fiercely Hausos insists on going it alone and rising to the top of her own accord that such questions may never be answered.
