"I am not a monster, but a warrior."

Darkness. Pain. Fear. The first three things Lefua ever knew. Her red, beady eyes open, only to reveal a corpse in front of her. It smelled of blood and death. It hadn't rotten yet, the blood still running fresh from its body. She moves closer, only to realize this dragon is, or was her father. The small hatchling rose quickly, adrenaline and fear starting to rush through her veins. She didn't remember where she was, or what happened. She was in a boneyard that seemed to stretch for miles and miles, with the exception of a dark forest to her north. She started trekking through the boneyard to escape the haunting presence of her dead father, her only thought was to simmer her hunger and fear. She walked for what seemed like days, and could only go as far as her little legs could take her. Soon enough she reached the boundary between the two lands, a wall of bones and brambles. The hatchling started to rip the bones from the wall. When she made a hole through the wall, she jumped through the brambles, and came out the other side cut and sore. The dragoness woke a few days later, and opened her eyes only to see nothing but darkness. A pile of moss and feathers supported her from the ground, and she found her muzzle bound tightly with a tree root that seemed to render her powerless. She rose and quickly found an exit, to where she finds a clan of dragons gathered in a circle. A black mirror turns and notes her wakening, from which the entire clan turns in what seems like fear and awe. A green sky dancer bears his teeth, but is stopped by a giant, armored guardian. He approaches the bound mirror, and welcomes her into their clan. The mirror is named Lefua, and is assigned to be watched by the alpa mirror, Atilla. The mirror pack trains her to be a strong hunter, and to shut out her savage plague instincts. The nature dragons do not approve, for in Sorienth, a plague mirror is seen as no more than an animal that needs to be put down. Some compare them to being worse than emperors, for their savage ways are known to betray their own kind. Lefua grows and falls in love with Blitzkrieg, Atilas son. The mirror pack fights and defends for her, but Lefua doesn't need defending. She can win any battle. |
