Biography

Eustace wants to be an alchemist. Creating something beautiful and useful from oozes and slimes and broken glass deeply appeals to him. He isn’t as comfortable with melting down materials. Harold assures him that they have more than enough, but it isn’t supply levels that’s the problem. Making Muck is the hardest. He’s done it twice, grabbing a cheap croaker from the auction block, and finding a Storm Seeker duplicate who couldn’t be paired as a familiar in the hoard. He swears his Shiny Residue croaks at him, and its eyes look wet. He gave his own Storm Seeker up to Verdigris so he could take care of the Residue that he’s nicknamed Pancake. He doesn’t have enough material to make the Storm Seeker something new yet. Eustace hopes Muck will be cheap on the market so he doesn’t have to distill any more (he didn’t have to the first times — shut up! He’s going to be an alchemist!).

Audrey is his favorite. Eustace was so happy to bring her glowing claw tips. He spends evenings with her often, making up stories and listening to her sing. As far as he’s concerned, she’s his little sister. They don’t battle together, but either one will return with lights or cat toy spoils to play with.

Eustace isn’t a good fighter. He’ll sneak out to the Training Grounds to level up on his own, but even with the far weaker monsters he can get overwhelmed and need to flee. Studying his Ice type advantages, window shopping for battle stones, hiding and watching what Harold does… nothing seems to work. He isn’t giving up, but it sticks like a thorn to see Audrey go out to guard the twins as they practice while he can’t do the same.
