Dawn

An intimidating member of the clan, and the only living member of its original founders.

When she was born, she was swept away from her family due to an aggressive snowstorm. She ended up in a shallow pool of water on the shores of the windswept plateau.
Those dragons were her new family - Yuu, Purple, Pastel, Cyborg, Erlad, Maksima, Twist, Splash, Saki, Campeche, and Terror.
The twelve would be bound eternally together. At least, that's what they thought.

Saki, despite being a delicate fae, took up the leadership role. She had beautiful butterfly eyes, a piercing cyan glare, and shimmering scales that could blind even the eyeless. Together with her fae friends, Campeche - a pure black, sickly dragon - and Terror - a chameleon, shocked into eternal colors by the traumatizing experience that brought her there - she formed a soldier team to protect the clan.

Yuu and Purple were smitten with one another, even from their days as hatchlings. Yuu was an all black dragon with glowing stripes and electric breath, while purple was the more casual, yet no less beautiful, member of the nocturnes.

Pastel and Cyborg were Dawn's other two skydancers, one a calming beach pattern and the other a light purple, much like their resident nocturne. Pastel became a good friend of Dawn, and the clan's healer. Though Pastel had one fleeting romance, Dawn knew she was just as much alone as herself. Cyborg, on the other hand, was not one of few romances. He was in a committed relationship with Maki, the deep purple pearlcatcher. They never once stopped having hatchlings until the day they left. Maki was the greatest friend of Dawn, and her first and truest love.

Erlad became the first of many of Saki's mates and Glitch's grandfather. Once Saki moved on, he left. Twist had a short romance with Terror, but left along with Splash before long.

Pastel passed away in a freak accident. Yuu, Purple, Cyborg, and Maksima had all left the clan to pursue their own lives. Erlad left after realizing he no longer had any family, since his son and daughter had left to journey for themselves at a young age and his mate began to have children with someone else. Twist and Splash never felt connected to the clan, leaving almost as soon as the hatchlings first met. Saki grew depressed as her role as the clan's defender was usurped by Dawn and her adoptive daughter. Saki had been reduced to nothing but a clan mother, and eventually committed suicide. Campeche left soon after, no longer feeling welcome in the clan and finding romance elsewhere. Terror had been living in sorrow for many years after becoming a widow, and passed away of an unknown illness.

Dawn was the only one of the original founders left in the clan. She didn't know if it could be considered the same clan anymore. She had the adopted children from when the other founders were still together, and some of the founders' descendants remained or returned to the clan - Seashell, Glitch, Izzy.
