Biography
Nicht Love Incarnate - Unjudging - Caring The Resident Rainbow - Changing The World "I used to hold my freak back Now I'm letting go I make my own choice Yeah I run this show So leave the lights on No, you can't make me behave So you say I'm complicated That I must be outta my mind But you've had me underrated Rated, rated What's wrong with being, what's wrong with being What's wrong with being confident? What's wrong with being, what's wrong with being What's wrong with being confident?" "Confident" - Demi Lovato Nicht was always an outcast in his birth clan, even as a hatchling. His clanmates were very serious -rejecting passion for cold, hard logic- and had little room for dragons with bright coloration or bright personality. Luckily and unluckily for Nicht, he had both of those- even with a basic tertiary gene. He always stuck out among his stoic, dull colored brethren, and received quite a lot of negative attention for it. Bullies would push Nicht around when he was young, mocking him for being hyper, or for being an “eyeburner." When he grew older and matured, this changed to lingering stares and whispers behind his back. Rather than letting this turn his heart cold, Nicht chose to be the bigger dragon and forgave. He forgave his clanmates for their mockery and teasing- they didn’t know better, after all, and they had grown up in an environment where such cruelty was a societal norm. Nicht strove to teach his clanmates differently, questioning the motives of their teasing and never backing down when they tried to shut him down. (“Why, why are you so mean to me? Do you really think that we shouldn’t love one another and the world around us?”) Try as he might, though, Nicht made little headway with his birth clan. They were too set in their ways for one dragon to change their hearts. But still, rather than hating them, Nicht only pitied their closed minds. Then, Nicht made the choice to leave his birth clan. He gathered up his meager belongings and set out for new, more accepting horizons. He wandered for weeks, hunting and gathering to keep himself fed and occasionally staying with other clans. As hospitable as the strange clans were, though, none of them ever felt... right. And so Nicht continued to explore the Starfall Isles, searching for the home he knew he would find somewhere. Eventually, Nicht wandered inward, towards the Observatory. It was there that he quite literally stumbled across a member of the Clan of Auroral Dissonance. (Nicht wasn’t watching his step and the poor Coatl nearly got squished!) After making sure the Coatl was alright, Nicht asked if he could be shown the way to the clan that the Coatl spoke of. The Coatl acquiesced, and Nicht was brought to a lair not far from the Observatory. It was there that Nicht met Valor and Lorien. The two Imperials were struck by Nicht’s unusual coloration, and were happy to listen to Nicht’s story. They were aghast when they heard of Nicht’s treatment in his birth clan, and pretty much instantly offered him a place in their clan. He thought it over. There was little need for him to, though, for Nicht’s heart was singing. Somehow, he knew that he had finally found his place. Nicht fervently accepted Valor and Lorien’s offer, much to their delight. They were quick to find Nicht a space in the lair, but not before paying a visit to Alya. They requested that he bless Nicht with a gift, and Alya complied after the appropriate conditions were met. In a whirl of light and magic, Nicht’s cyan tertiary color was brought out in the form of a Crackle gene. Nicht was overjoyed at his new appearance- he was even brighter than before! After that, it didn’t take Nicht long at all to settle into his new home. He befriended pretty much everyone (though his closest friends include Diedrich, Pinot Noir, Amadieu, Galilahi and Veranera). Additionally, not long after he joined the clan, a Nature Sprite came to Nicht. He was drawn by Nicht’s passion for helping others, and they have been close friends ever since. Though Nicht remains unmated (no males have really caught his eye as of yet), he takes it all in stride. Today, Nicht the “resident rainbow” can be found helping and caring for other dragons in his clan. He is just about the least judgmental dragon and a very good listener, and is always willing to aid others in their plights. Nicht’s love is all encompassing, and his other clanmates are unflinching in their belief of this. They know that he will always be there if they need him. Nicht and his Nature Sprite also founded a movement within their clan not only in support of Familiar rights, but to also help dragons that have been abused take the steps to recovery and healing. Ever since his own rough time as a hatchling, Nicht swore that he would never let that happen to another dragon under his watch. Regardless of Flight, coloration, or breed, no one deserves that. Slowly but surely, Nicht’s movement and his viewpoint have spread. Closed minds are growing open, one dragon at a time. And, truly, if anything is going to change the world, it will be Nicht’s unconditional love. |
