It may have started when he grew paranoid about his pearl at an early age but this was mostly normal for all pearlcatchers. At any rate, when he isn't gripping onto his pearl he is taking care of the eggs in the clan. It's an honour to him, other dragons letting him take care of so many small futures? Yes, his responsibility made him smile and gave him a reason to wake up in the morning. He has his egg keeping down to a science, the amount of rotation each egg needed, the right temperature to keep the incubation periods short. He will check the eggs by candeling upon request, always check the nests to make sure the cushions were of utmost softness and what not. The cushions changed depending on which nest he was looking after, but he has gear to take care of the other types of egg nests. Fire and magma proof gear and whatnot. His kindness carries over to any dragons who also need assistance. He goes on errands for those who can't make the trip themselves, he listens to those who need an ear the bend and will sometimes mutter clear thoughts to those who need a guiding word. He doesn't choose to sleep in the normal sections of the lair he stays at. Even when there aren't any eggs to looks after, he chooses to sleep in the incubation chambers. He claims that the room is warm for him, but others have always suspected there was more. Little did they know, incubation chambers make him feel whole: it was the last time he saw his parents and the last time he saw his siblings. Being in those nests and watching over the room calms his mind as he sleeps with his pearl like a stuffed animal. Plumbago isn't sure what is to come next, but he does want to continue being an egg keeper since it's one of the few things that have made him happy in a very long time. Named after a family of flowers that are blue and in the coldest winter months their foliage turns a dark red. This plant is used for ground cover and is quite hardy, only the coldest of winters being their plight. Being hardy is something a dragon needs when taking care of eggs since incubation is a job for all times of the year and at any hour of the day. |
