Sacrifices are always required in the name of glorious pursuits.

Thalyssa grew up in a large Light clan, the daughter of a Priestess. She was likable and graceful in her youth, having all the indication of a happy upbringing. But when she was a juvenile she was attacked by a Shade monstrosity and learned to kill defending herself. Her personality was much altered by the experience and she became cold and calculating, willing to do whatever it took to achieve the power to protect herself.

After she reached adulthood she entered the Priestesshood, rising quickly in the ranks. Her rivals all seemed to disappear or die in mysterious circumstances, allowing for her rise in power.
