❀ Species Profile & Conservation Status ❀

Least Concern The spangled drongo is found in Australia where it can be recognized by its black, iridescent plumage and by its characteristic forked tail. The spangled drongo is an amazing mimic of sounds heard in the vicinity, and sometimes makes astonishingly loud, complex and entertaining calls that may sound like a "sneeze.” This species is not considered at risk of extinction.

Fun Fact: When it seasonally visits urban areas it is easily tamed by throwing small pieces of raw meat into the air, where it will accurately swoop and catch them mid-air.

Dicra was one of the first dragons to arrive in Owl Wood, in May of 2014, so her gentle guidance was a critical part of shaping the culture of our clan. One of her talents is the crafting of pigments that are used by the artists in the clan for making artwork and cosmetics.
