Xene often keeps to herself, being shy and withdrawn. She is especially nervous of strangers, particularly larger breeds of dragons such as Guardians, Snappers and Imperials. It isn’t that she particularly dislikes others dragons, and when she learns to trust she is a loyal, generous and kind friend. It just takes a hell of a lot for her to build up that trust.

This timid behaviour stems from a past trauma, the cause of her scars and something terrible enough that it haunts her both awake and asleep. If any dragon who knew her as a youngster were to meet her now they would hardly recognise her, given that she used to be outgoing and carefree.
Taking time to herself, with the intention on moving on from the past, Xene made a temporary home at the Bastion. She kept her skills with a blade and illusion magic a secret, taking a vow never to use either in the presence of others - not even in self defence. The only exception to this self imposed rule is when Xene uses a subtle glamour spell to make herself less conspicuous when visiting the marketplace or tavern at the Bastion.

Lonely, and aware that it is likely her own fault for pulling away from social interactions in the clan, she made many visits to the bestiary and those stalls at the market which sell critter companions, hoping one day to find an animal friend to keep her company.
