Biography
Eirik the Explorer
Clan Spelunker | Stonemason | Mineralogist | Keeper of the Clan Hot Springs
Clan Spelunker | Stonemason | Mineralogist | Keeper of the Clan Hot Springs
Never seen far from Vashon's side, this constantly exhausted-looking Ridgeback can be seen mostly in the lower caves off the main lair of the clan. He comes and goes quietly, sometimes mistaken for the mossy walls of the lair themselves--unless, of course, he's hard at work. His history isn't interesting as far as he's concerned, but Elethea seems to think otherwise. They arrived in the clan together, a mismatched, but content pair: both with an important role to play, much to Lockwood's delight. Though Vashon didn't arrive long after his arrival, Eirik went to work immediately, creating the beautiful winding pathways throughout the main lair, and the rooms custom suited to each of his lair mates' tastes. Despite his rough demeanor, he listened to each of them patiently (and still does, to this day), and did his best work to hollow out a comfortable existence for his new family. The crumbling ruins he'd once called home had provided a platform for his learning. 'Borrowed' tools were in hand the moment he could manage it, and his 'lair' was a testament to his budding talent. But something was lacking, and the sunlight of the Ruins often left him exhausted--a trait he blames on his Snapper heritage. There was a place nearby that was so much darker...and hearing rumor of an amazing temple where he could explore, and perhaps improve, it was hard to resist. This was where he encountered the scrappy Mirror Elethea--and despite their obvious differences, he found himself immensely comforted by her upbeat presence. But even this dark place couldn't provide him with what he desired deep down--and so, his mate proposed exploration--exploration that would lead straight into the Viridian Labyrinth. As soon as he hit the sprawling cavern of the Clan in the Mists, something clicked. Something, luckily, that Elethea seemed to feel as well. Welcomed with open arms, the two settled in nicely, and eased into their respective roles. With the arrival of his Guardian, Vashon, Eirik finally felt truly complete. He was genuinely surprised to see that he was so like-minded, and together, the two moved literal mountains to create the home their loved ones deserved. Recently, after so long together, the two were unable to deny a far deeper bond that Guardianship--and silently agreed in a ceremony just for themselves that they would join a mated pair. And even though they are both bonded with others, this union has been nothing short of harmonious. (It seems that Elethea and Valeraine's encouragement worked, after all, much to their delight.) Whenever things need to be done, one can count on their expertise, even if Eirik still hasn't fixed his insomnia... He says it makes him think on the fly...which is an advantage. Hopefully. |
