Sussuri, Sunil, and Vija have taken a lot of interest in this youngling. It's a bit worrying. He works very hard to please them, but rarely gives a thought to what the work they ask of him might lead to. After he brought Kriyei home again following the 26th Game, he's been strangely distant to almost everyone. Some have started to wonder if his father's influence has finally reached him.
Dara has begun to think what it really means to be a child of Treesnek. He's seen the wary glances, the fear, the excitement. But even if he is Treesnek's son, isn't he the son of Cloverwish, too? And more than that, isn't he Dara? He is tired of living in his father's shadow. It's time he carved his own destiny.
