Biography
Necromantress
Vija is a surprisingly calm Spiral, but that still means she is quite hyper by other dragon standards. She's very fond of coiling around either of her parents when she falls asleep.
Vija's brothers like wrestling with each other, and try as she might Vija just can't quite move fast enough to avoid being caught in the resulting tangle of dragons. She can often be heard quietly asking why the Windsinger made Spirals so crazy.
Vija is probably the only dragon in the clan that isn't even slightly intimidated by Sunil. Then again, not much ruffles this Spiral, anyway. She enjoys his company, partly because he is a lot quieter and less rambunctious than her brothers and father. She is also the only one who knows exactly what he gets up to in the Tangled Wood (and one of the few that even knows he goes there at all), but when asked about it all she does is smile and drift away.
There is a reason Vija adorns herself with bones. She never answers questions about them directly, but the clan's Plague dragons have heard them whisper to her, and hear Vija whisper back. Sometimes at night she sneaks out and finds a place where she thinks no one is watching, and she makes the skeletons dance. It is small magic, just animating the bone, but Vija knows that one day she can do more.
Ever since the Games began, Vija has served as the clan necromancer, working alongside Silver to deal with those who didn't make it to the end. She calls them back, he mends their bodies, and between them they can manage a reasonably solid resurrection. She never told anyone about the soul-shards she'd steal from the really interesting ones.
When the Emperor broke through the binding wards and the Games were ended, Vija followed Sussuri in his new Games because they were something for her to do. Just another day at work. That changed with the Twenty-Seventh Game. Her mother Iris had come looking for her. With Silver's help, she called Iris back safe and sound, but now it's personal. Her loyalties have begun to shift.
