Purple Haze didn't so much get his nickname as make it for himself. He was born with a love for music deeper than his love for anything or anyone else. That's not to say that he isn't an affectionate dragon; in fact he enjoys little more than showing his music to other dragons and seeing their smiles or hearing them humming along. Still, he wasn't always the expert he is now, and he set out from his original clan refusing to be called by anything but his new moniker in order to make a place for himself in the world.

Purple Haze was put under plenty of scrutiny when he arrived at his newest clan and decided that it was just the place for him. While many of the dragons thought that his easygoing nature suited the Wind flight quite well, and enjoyed hearing his voice, but Hera thought otherwise. She prodded and nudged and quizzed the guardian so much that he eventually shrugged and began joining in her training sessions.

Everyone in the clan knew that Hera's regimen was not easy, but they never heard a complaint from Purple Haze. He simply sauntered to practice every day, and played his instruments by evening. It was a surprise to all--especially Hera--when the seemingly lazy guardian rose through the ranks to become Hera's second-in-command. His carefree nature seemed to balance her strict and violent one, and he enjoyed the attention of both captain and trainees. And he boosts the morale of all of the fighting dragons with his jokes and music, just as he has and will with all dragons wherever he goes.
