Mallow

Mallow makes his home in a chalcedony cove a few miles from the main cave network. While he is a powerful battlemage, Mallow prefers the academic study of magic instead of Aidan's glamours or Tim's explosions.

He made the perilous journey from the Spiral Keep to the heart of Arcane territory, and decided that Clan Ninereeds would serve well as a viable new home. Ninereeds was delighted when the mage presented himself and asked for permission to settle, partially because he was flattered that somebody would travel so far to live here and also because it made a nice change from dragons randomly sliding in unannounced and popping up in odd places (looking at you, Fairo!)

Mallow is a friendly fellow, and will cheerfully welcome those who show up at his door, but he rarely seeks out others. He often gets so caught up in his studies that he only stops when he passes out from fatigue or hunger. When a hatchling named Citrine arrived from our sister clan in Wind, Ninereeds asked Mallow to take the young Spiral on as an apprentice. Mallow knew the real reason behind it, but now he acts as a father figure to Citrine, raising him and teaching him the ways of Arcane magic, and Citrine makes sure that Mallow eats once in awhile. A satisfactory solution all around.
