Biography
Idea: Midnight was found and saved by his mother, Silvereye. Coming from a not-so-loving family Silvereye's more mothering side was quite unusual, and won the Nocturne's loyalty. He is very defensive of his timed sister, and mother. Much to Silvereye's dismay Midnight is eager to protect her, namely from his uncle who, as Midnight says, is a beast amongst dragons. It kills him to have to take orders from him as a member of the Night Watch.
A few days after Midnight hatched from an egg within his lair in the Obscured Crescent of the Tangled Wood, he was being prepped for Exaltion. Somehow, instincts told Midnight that he had to escape this fate.
In the middle of the night, he fled. He had no idea where he was going, just that it was away.
He travelled for many days; his small legs and flightless wings not taking him very fast. Eventually, he had to stop. He was exhausted. Being only a few days old has not prepared him for this journey. On death's door, Midnight was about to give up.
As he was closing his eyes, and laying down amongst the pine needles, he heard what sounded like crying. Yes, it was crying. A distinct and distressed dragon cry. With new found energy, Midnight got up to investigate.
Without much trouble, Midnight found the source of the sound. It was a young Pearlcatcher, caught in the thorny brambles. She was crying because her beloved pearl had rolled out of reach when she got stuck in the vines.
Midnight helped her out and dried her tears. There would be no need to cry anymore. Little did they know, that after this occurance, the two would never be seperated again.
The fog of the Wood was becomming more and more thick, and it was getting harder to see. The two baby dragons huddled together, trying to keep warm.
Luckily, this Pearl's crying had not only alerted Midnight, but also a 3 month old Tundra. She and her Gloomwillow Guide heard the cries and followed it.
With the Guide leading the way, and providing light in the ever growing darkness, the Tundra found two tiny hatchlings. At the sight of a very large dragon, both hatchlings cowered and tried to hide within the bushes.
"Shhh little ones, it is alright, don't be afraid. I'm here to help." The Tundra cooed. "My name is Hawkclaw, and I will escort you back to my lair. Our leader will help you, don't fret."
The little hatchlings looked up at Hawkclaw, eyes wide and frightened. They cowered once more when Hawkclaw leaned down to pick them up. Upon contact, they screamed as if they were being killed.
This shocked Hawkclaw, causing her to nearly drop the babes. "Okay, easy now, it's okay. Shhh, be quiet loves, we don't want to wake any predators in these woods." She scooped the young dragons onto her back.
The two protested for a moment, before snuggling down in the great Tundra's mane, and falling asleep.
Carefully, Hawkclaw returned to her lair within the Wispwillow Grove. She instantly sought out Silvereye, their leader.
"Silvereye! Thank Shadowbinder I found you. I was out in the woods on my nightly patrol when I heard a dragon cry. I went to investigate, and well, see for yourself." Hawkclaw said, turning slightly to show the baby dragons asleep in her fur. "They are both starving, and look like death herself is ready to take them. Please, we have to give them a home."
Silvereye sighed, long and low. "Hawkclaw, you know our lair is already short on supplies. Two more hungry mouths to feed may be two too many."
"Please! We have to take them, the Nocturne is Shadow born, I saw his eyes. We cannot abandon one of our own kind." Hawkclaw desperately pleaded with her leader. "You know I would take them myself, but I have babies of my own to care for."
Silvereye stared at the hatchlings. She could tell they were just days old. Looking closer, she could see the Nocturne had the traditional markings for Exaltion. "The poor child. He would have been sent so young." She thought.
"Alright, Hawkclaw. You've convinced me. We will take in these children. In fact, I will raise them as my own." Staring at the small face of the Nocturne, Silvereye could tell that this would be the right decision.

Midnight
"Blood makes you related. Loyalty make you family." |
From the day he was born Midnight was to be exalted to the Shadowbinder. The obly reason he wasn't was that he fled to the out skirts of the Shadow Flight's land. He would have kept running if it hadn't been for the unnamed Pearlcather. She was so uterly helpless that Midnight couldn't think of leaving her alone. Since he was found and taken into the coven he has shown determination, loyalty, to his mother figure and clan leader, Silvereye. When Silvereye would be distracted by territory disputes, or sick hatchling she would give her smaller jobs to him to handle in her place. Although he is young, Silvereye puts a lot of stock in his opinion. A fact that irks Sunspot to no end. Even if Sunspot is Midnight's uncle, and the dragon who trained him he had never liked the dragon for his disrearguard for his mothers orders, as well as the way he had tried to overthrow her during a time of weakness. |

Exalting Midnight to the service of the Shadowbinder will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
