The Weight of Living, Part 1 -Bastille
Your albatross, let it go, let it go,
Your albatross shoot it down, shoot it down
When you just can't shake
The heavy weight of living
When you just can't seem to shake
The weight of living
Your albatross, let it go, let it go,
Your albatross shoot it down, shoot it down
When you just can't shake
The heavy weight of living
When you just can't seem to shake
The weight of living
~
She came when Basil had visited Inkheart. She was still a young adult, eager to explore and find exactly what had been pulling her away from her family. She loved her parents dearly, having grown up in the waters with them. Her father was her mentor, teaching her to swim and catch small fish before she had even stepped foot on land.
When she did leave her father's side it didnt take long for her to grow nearly attatched to Basil's side, excited by the concept of leaving and exploring. She had heard of large oceans and seas, and she begged Basil for months to take her. It wasn't until Lagoona was strong enough did Basil finally relent, taking her with her on one of her journeys.
She saw the oceans, she saw every river and lake, but something was pulling her away from them. Though this disturbed her, and caused many doubts on her heritage. It caused her to be fidgety and uneasy, not wanting to return having learned nothing about herself. So Basil compromised, bringing her to the sanctuary admist the plaguelands. It wasn't meant to be more than a break for them, allowing Basil to recoup with her partner and for them to gain the energy for the long flight home.
That's when she first saw the pond. It was rather large, full of lilypads and frogs. Suddenly, a calming feeling drew her to it. Soon she was submerged in the cooling waters. Frogs and dragonflies buzzed around her. She was -home-.
It took Basil by surprise that Lagoona had decided to stay, protecting the pond and all it's inhabitants. Inkheart was welcoming to the newest guest, explaining how the pond works with her magic. Lagoona listened, enthralled by how everything works, how the garden is maintained with the use of her magic. She grew even more excited at the idea of actually being able to stay there, helping protect the things that allow the garden to grow.
As Basil left to return home, and Inkheart retired for the day, is when she met Glade. He was of monstrous size, shifting and stretching his wings as he stood up, examining Lagoona. After a moment, with Lagoona melting into the water in fear, Glade slowly laid back down. 'You have a pure heart, you may stay to protect your charge.' His voice was low and dark, though he meant not to frighten her. She soon learned that his own charge was the garden encompassing them, and that he had set to protect the life so that others like Basil and Lagoona may call shelter to it when need be.
Glade and Lagoona got along quite well. Inkheart didn't talk much, due to being busy with her own work, but there was often playful banter between the two guardians as they watched the days go by.
She takes care of two frogs along with her turtle. The frogs names are Buttercup and Bubbles. They are often seen on top of her head.
