History
Born to a band of scavengers on the rim of the Wyrmwound, Morokei spent her younger days scrapping – mostly unsuccessfully - with her clutchmates for the tattered remains of carcasses. The harshness of the wasteland was a fact that permeated her life and it wasn’t long until she found herself abandoned and alone. She was never the strongest dragon of her clutch and only had her wits to lead her as she made her way to the Abiding Boneyard where it could be said that she was truly moulded into the queen she would become. Her cunning, developed in her hatchling days, was honed to a razor point with which she used to carve a place for herself within the brutal hierarchy of the Boneyard, scheming her way to the top. However, the fortunes of a lone dragon in the wastelands are tempestuous at best and a lingering period of scarcity left her greatly weakened and eventually replaced. Morokei was reluctant to lose her independence but hunger proved the more pressing motivator and she was forced to join the first clan that was willing to take her in. For some time she contented herself with being an underling but as her strength returned, it wasn’t long until she turned once again to higher ambitions. She longed for the respect and fearful admiration of her lesser counterparts and was finally in a position within the clan to reach for it. Putting a plan into motion she utilised the tenuous allegiances she had made, manoeuvring herself into leadership. It was as quick as it was bloody: almost overnight the clan had a new queen; an event still spoken of in hushed tones by the members of the clan that live to remember it, with rumours of Morokei’s many murders and deceptions passed around only when it is certain that she, or any of those loyal to her are not around to overhear them. Personality Morokei is distant and aloof, unwilling to form close connections to other dragons out of fear of betrayal. Even her closest sentries know very little about her. Despite this she remains every inch a queen, albeit a severe one, carrying herself with the sovereignty befitting her station. She demands respect – and she receives it. For all their misgivings, not a single dragon would deny that under her leadership the clan has strengthened, becoming a terrifying force that is infamous throughout the wastes and even beyond. Morokei’s shrewdness means that she is constantly considering ways to expand her clan’s influence further. Morokei is domineering and despises incompetence, cowardice and opposition of any form and always provides adequate and savage punishment for all dissenters. She knows that history will likely remember her as a tyrant but she doesn’t care. She knows what she wants and what she needs to do to get it - If others are too unintelligent or weak to protect themselves and their interests, then that’s their problem.
