Xia

As the daughter of giants, Xia's glittering hide ought to be reminiscent of great caverns and mountains teeming with crystal veins, but instead she has the presence of a delicate blossom, with large, gentle eyes and paws as soft as silk. She wraps herself in layers of silken fabric and furs to hide the harsh prongs and powerful muscles of her guardian form, wanting nothing more than to go unnoticed by the world around her. She is large, clumsily so at times, and her shining scales are quick to draw the attention of others, much to her dismay. She's as shy as she is strong, humble and sweet, and has no real concept of the beauty she holds. She just wants to be small so she can hide somewhere safe and quiet, but the world has other ideas for her in mind.

With no charge to call her own, Xia served as an unconventional maiden at a fae-owned tea shop, mixing leaves and herbs into sweet and savory tastes to sell. She was always a little too big for the shop, but she loved the smell of the brews and the feel of teacups between her claws, and so she stayed there, even if her bulky wings cost her manager a shelf or two. She thought she'd live her life here, peaceful and content, but when a young gambler found his way to her doorstep, she got swept up in the adventure of his life. It's been chaos ever since, and she's been doing her best to just to keep up, following closely at Damen's footsteps. She doesn't know why she stays with him, especially not with the noisy danger that seems to follow him around, but other guardians look upon them both and know at once. She asks them what they see in the pair, but they only shake their heads. She'll figure it out for herself one day.
