Biography

Antony
"Military Trainee / Chaotic Good"

I am not throwing away my shot
Hey yo, I’m just like my country
I’m young, scrappy and hungry
And I’m not throwing away my shot

The pearlcatcher bounded around his opponent, catching them off guard and moving swiftly. They tumbled, taken aback by the hard kick delivered to their flank in just the right spot. In an attempt to recover however, they were left vulnerable to the pearlcatcher’s next - and last - move. A roundhouse kick delivered upwards sent them flying back into a crumpling heap, a scaled claw slapping the ground in a gesture of forfeit. The seriousness fled from the pearlcatcher as they moved to help their sparring partner up off the ground, chuckling while commending how well they had fought. The dragon huffed, but nodded, a smile forming on their own face at the compliment from their trainer.

Antony watched as the next trainee entered into the training grounds, looking a bit unsure of their footing after watching their peer against the pearlcatcher. A smile graced their training instructor’s face, welcoming and allowing the trainee to feel a bit at ease. A nod of approval was all that was needed to give them confidence, and the two moved to their appropriate spots to begin the spar. There were several other dragons waiting their own turn, knowing that Antony was the best dragon in the clan to teach them how to become warriors. Scars lined every surface of his body, and while his lopsided, startling array of teeth upon jutting mandibles there was a heart of gold underneath it all.

A strong warrior, Antony served his clan by training initiates into his ranks. He learned from them where their strengths and weaknesses lay, how to help them get better and where to place them. His social disposition made him easy for anyone to become comfortable around Antony, and for it he loved the interactions. Given how his early years had been, it was a bit of a shock that a dragon like Antony didn’t shy away from others, let alone become outright hostile around them.

Life before the clan he now called home had been that of clan after clan, dwelling after dwelling. New faces greeted and said goodbye to the young dragon within his youth, with eventually only a dash of a memory remained of his birth parents. He remembered his father fondly for his gentle encouragement, of his desire for his son to grow into a strong, happy dragon. His mother left a less than positive mark upon her son, remembered in the recesses of his memory for her disdain towards him. She dislike every amount of how he looked, despising the sight of her son. Those were the memories he clung to within his youth, and despite it all his father had instilled within Antony the same gentle and encouraging attitude. The pearlcatcher however put his own twist on it, becoming a skilled warrior and fighting for the clans he passed through before settling.

The two dragons clashed on the training field, tooth and nail flying from the younger of the pair. Antony darted about them, letting their attacks fly past and hit nothing but dirt. His quick movements gave him an advantage, catching yet another trainee off guard. Having won this little spar, Antony helped the dragon to their feet. There was still a long day ahead of him, but he still smiled enthusiastically and called on the next trainee.
