Valentino doesn't have a very grand or romantic story for why or how he joined the Akashaa, but he does have an incredible tale of what he was doing before.

He has always been a seeker of justice, and as such, has a bit of trouble finding work in one place. Before settling- a dragon needs a place with old friends and warm beds to rest their bones, you know- he and a group of other vigilantes wandered Sorienth, honing their fighting skills largely through petty squabbles in markets and escorting royalty for some extra pay. There weren't many, at least, ever all together- the number in all tends to vary. Valentino was closest with brother HaoSong, who is in the vast majority of his stories of vengeance, mischief, and traveling.

Valentino and his group- he doesn't recall it having a name or a leader, they were all just friends doing what they thought was right. Rescuing hatchlings from kidnappers, walking young dragons home to safety, calling out a crooked haggler... Though, he wouldn't call any of that much of a feat. Val would tell you about racing across the canvas tops of the bazaar after a slippery little Spiral trying to make off with a coin purse, or escorting parties across the deserts and having to fend off assassins and bandits. Surely, if you see him around, he'll tell you all about it.
