Erelah quietly dreads the day when someone will tell her they're in love with her.

She loves, yes, friends and her parents and her siblings - she loves even the distant family members she's never met in person, through fond retellings of old memories and shared laughter. She loves the sky, and the water. She loves words. She loves herself. But she feels like that one specific kind of love that other dragons talk about is different; not better, not "more", just different. And she's not quite sure she can do it?

She spends her free time coming up with excuses. She's pining away for some other soul, and can't devote her attention elsewhere. She's much too busy with her responsibilities, and doesn't have the time. She - she doesn't like lying. She just doesn't want to, or feel the need to, and she doesn't think it's something she's capable of, even. She hopes they'll understand.
