The Grimoire of Aderyn

If there is one thing I have come to know in my long years of study, it is that there is no such thing as luck when it comes to the positioning of the universe’s chess pieces.

Erlen no longer believed in chance, for there was no such thing. Everything holds a purpose, no matter how trivial it may have appeared. Now for what purpose this grimoire held eluded him. It has no discernible features that set it apart from any other text in his collection. Except for the contents contained. Erlen could not make out anything aside from what appeared to be instructions. The script looked alien to him. To the untrained eye, looked as if a child had found a blank book and began scribbling what they perceived as letters. There had to be some profound reason why Aderyn wrote it.

Aderyn couldn't recall when or even where he could have written the grimoire. Although he couldn't recollect writing it, it was unmistakably his writing. Erlen was puzzled.
