The beloved King of the Coastal Forest was not always so well off in life. The man's beginnings were awful, leaving him with all means of metal scarring from the various attacks of the Storm Seekers who loved to plague his family. Being the weakest, he was almost always the center of these attacks and if it weren't for his brother, Yatsugatake, he would have died long ago. After one particularly nasty attack, his mother couldn't stand to see her child suffer anymore and sent him off to an orphanage in the Everbloom Gardens. Valor never liked the others, seeing as they often jeered at him for being the only spiral in the area. He was positive that he would live his life as an object of ridicule and never escape this fate, until one day a coatl woman came out of nowhere and defended the man from the taunting of the others.

When the two lovers came of age, they left to go find a home for themselves in their homeland. Upon their entrance to the Sea of a Thousand Currents, two mysterious druids from nature encountered them on their journey and decided to tag along. When Harlow discovered that Valor was her charge, she swore fealty to him as her king as did her assistant Natura. his rule can be compared to the meaning of Lapis Lazuli. Lapis Lazuli's deep, celestial blue remains the symbol of royalty and honor, gods and power, spirit and vision. It is a universal symbol of wisdom and truth, much like the way he rules his kingdom and advises his subjects. His favorite food is the Twilight Jewel Moth, which he hoards with his various shells.
