'I will remember while the light lives yet, and in the night I shall not forget'

An entity that exists beyond physical form; a creature that may have once been a dragon and now only vaguely resembles one, Khoshekh protects the souls of the lost and unwanted until they can find their way to the gods. He watches over them to make sure that they are not harvested by necromancers or others harboring ill intent and to make sure they do not run afoul and turn into vengeful spirits. The spirits of children are drawn to him, as if they can sense what he used to be.

Khoshekh does not remember what his name used to be, or where he came from. All he remembers of his short mortal life was the feeling of falling, landing in rough surf, and then cold and the burn of his lungs drawing in water instead of the oxygen they craved. Having been born blind, the absence of sight upon awakening is not what startled him the most; it was the tug of other souls on his, and the distinct feeling of being... mature. Having been a clumsy hatchling when he died, he was not prepared for the sudden increase in size, and struggled to get used to his new body; a body that, he soon realized, didn't quite have a corporeal form. With the ability to shift in an out of reality, Khoshekh began to follow the tugging sensation on his soul. It was like there were numerous strings tied to him; pulling him in all different directions. After following one to the soul of a forlorn widow that found she could not survive without her husband, he realized what he was meant to do. With a small smile and an unseeing stare, he offered the soul his hand, and with it, the solace she needed to journey on to her chosen afterlife.

And so, the once-dragon travels Sornieth, working closely with death to protect the souls of the dead from the living, and the living from the souls of the dead.
