Caeruleus has been climbing as long as he can remember. The love of heights runs red hot in his veins, relentless and fierce. As a hatchling, it saw him stranded in all manner of places, from towering trees to perilous cliffs, teetering on the precipice.

Now, as an adult, it sees him in the highest reaches of the world.

There's something thrilling to him about being so high up that it's impossible to see the ground below, to be surrounded on all sides by billowing clouds, to be alone with nothing but the sky overhead and maybe the stars. Caeruleus lives for the rush of freezing air in his lungs, the ache in his muscles as he makes his way past a milestone. He strains toward the sky with everything he has.

But he never really leaves the earth, either.

It's a strange sort of limbo to be in, attached but floating free, high above the world but still a part of it. It's incomparable to anything else he's ever felt. Truly, he adores it, and that's the reason he refuses to come down. He plans to live in the mountains forever, to revel in the icy peaks all his life. It is home like nothing else has ever been or ever could be, and he cannot leave that behind.

The mountains hold his heart, reaching evermore toward the sky.
