you wake up in a soft, sheltered bed, with no memory of where you’ve been. the room is made of a dark redwood, and a deep red curtain hangs in the doorway of the room. soft clinking sounds, like those of ceramic, echo from somewhere else in the building, accompanied by quiet voices.

the healer’s tell you it looked like you were on a vast, lonely pilgrimage to somewhere unknown, when they found you; ankle twisted, unconscious, and lighty bloodied. they’re not sure how you ended up like that, but then again, neither are you.

you ask, where am i? and they tell you you're lucky; you’re in the outskirts of a small city, protected by the antediluvian goddess lar. they say you can stay as in the teahouse long as you like, no cost at all, but if you wish to enter the city's inner walls, it can only be granted by cybele.

who's cybele? well...

cybele established laropidda long before even the oldest of its tenants were born. her teahouse, standing between the inner and outer walls of the city, is open to all who require rest or medical attention. she dedicates most of her time to brewing infused teas, and tending to those desperate for housing.

the matriarch aligns herself with her birth element, wind. her alignment, and her very nature, grants her the unique allyship of the leucistic crows that have circled the pale skies of laropidda since before even cybele’s time.

cybele demands no recognition or reward for her efforts in creating and aiding the city and it's people. she works altruistically, and in the honor of lar.
