Sunset

The dreamer. ____________________________________________________ 6/22/16 Sunset, a rather small and young Spiral, had pitched himself at the roof of the tallest den. He weighed so little that It didn't matter whether he jumped and bounced for no snow would fall from the dragon's footsteps. He stared at the sun as it rose from the horizon like an angel who rose from the ground in the most graceful of manners. He concluded that his name should have been sunrise, but the bright pinks and yellows that adorned the sky was contrasting to his reds and oranges. The few birds that lived in the Southern Ice-field were awake and making sure everyone knew it. He let out a sigh that turned into a cloud of mist. The morning was a promising one, today he would travel north across the Frigid Flows to Star-fall Ilse and retrieve some herbs for Nurania, whom he had a secret crush on. The sun felt warm against his scales and was a nice change compared to the ice and snow of his home. The cold slowed down the mighty reptiles, made them tired. Sunset packed a meat sandwich, two small coin purses (as he was known to loose things), and a good luck clover from Silvendel after she blessed his travels the earlier day. Leaping into the air, the spiral whizzed past still sleeping dragons and snow dens. The air was crisp and stung his lungs after a good hour of flying but he pursued, no use to go only a small distance on a quest just to turn back empty handed. Not for Nurania. Nurania was an older Spiral, who, enjoyed his company over all others. He was younger, yes, but not by much in the eyes of the elders and their personalities matched when it came to making brash, wild decisions and having a tendency to go their own way. Nurania trusted Sunset to go to the ends of Dragonhome and back for her. If she had willed it, he would do it without a scratch and carrying piles of gold in his bags. In progress
