가장 옅은, 엷은 빛깔의 노을 한자락




STORY

150년을 막 넘긴 우레입니다. 빛깔이 옅어 어둠에 덮히기 직전의 노을을 좋아하는 그녀는 초저녁에 자주 나타납니다. 연한 노란빛의 머리카락은 거칠고 짧게 잘려 목 언저리에서 찰랑거립니다. 불빛과도 같은 진한 주황빛 눈동자는 그녀 스스로도 가장 좋아하는 부분이지요. 화려한 머리장식을 좋아해 노을자락을 세공가들에게 맡기는 일이 잦습니다. 연월가의 월식은 그녀가 좋아하는 세공가 중 하나인데 최근에는 많이 바빠진 탓에 찾아가지 못하고 있습니다. 따뜻하다거나 온화한 성격은 아니지만 자신이 소중히 여기는 이들은 무척 챙겨 지인들로부터 평이 좋습니다. 새로 태어난 어린 우레들에게 이런저런 이야기들을 들려주는 것을 좋아합니다.

하호(霞狐)는 담애와 함께 다니는 '노을여우'입니다. '무호(無狐)'는 특이한 여우들로 태어날 적에는 실체가 없이 투명한 영으로 태어납니다. 이곳저곳을 돌아다니며 다양한 이들을 만나고 자신이 진정 함께하고픈 이와 마주하면 그쪽의 성질이 물들어 다시 태어나게 됩니다. 무호는 영의 상태일 때에는 이름이 지어지지 못하며 '무호'라고만 불립니다. 다시 태어난 뒤의 이름은 본인이 직접 짓거나 다른이가 지어주는데 '하호'는 본인이 직접 지은 경우입니다. 하호는 담애가 주는 노을자락을 먹습니다. 날마다 다른 색의 노을빛 털을 뽐내며 담애의 곁에 꼭 붙어있는 아이입니다.
