Ioan's arrival in Haven Clan was not one of willingness, but of necessity. He was rescued from death or worse at the hands of bounty hunters - the price on his head a mystery of his past, one he is vehemently unwilling to speak of and all too ready to forget.

His savior was the guardian Amhlaoibh. It was an event expected by neither of the dragons, though both came to eventually realize that Ioan is undoubtedly Amh's charge. The tundra, however, spends most of his time attempting to avoid his guardian. A bit of begrudging gratitude and awkward attempts at friendship remain between them, but the future of their relationship is uncertain.
