Born in the Shifting Expanse to Light parents, Yáviel came to the clan as a mature adult. With her she brought an array of strange devices used to track the year and its seasons, and soon set them up atop a ridge near the clan lair.

She spends many of her days fiddling with them, making improvements and adjustments that look strange to the majority of her clan-mates. Since she is large even for an Imperial, the apparatuses are also massive. There are small parts which require a fine touch, the care of which is provided by some of her smaller clan-mates under instruction.
She’s made a friend of Liltaumi, the Lightning Emissary, with whom she discusses the workings of contraptions and machinery.
