Born in the frigid Southern Icefields, Wijn learned first hand how to survive in the cold wilderness. Many plants don't grow in the snow, she had to learn which did and which died in the frigid temperatures. One plant that did seem to do well in certain areas of the Southern Icefields, was grapes. It couldn't get too cold, but she found that frozen grapes could be turned into something else, other than a tasty treat. With some studying, Wijn soon discovered how to make wine from her grapes. Her specialty was frozen grape wines, a delicacy in her area. She made enough to make a name for herself, and to earn herself enough money to move from the cold icefields. But she knew she couldn't go somewhere too warm; her Ice blood wouldn't be able to handle it. She stumbled upon the Tiered City of Ilthorne by accident. Wijn had only been looking for a place to spend the night, before traveling further, but she soon fell in love with the city. The climate was perfect, not too hot, and the cool nights and days were just amazing. Plus there was plenty of land outside the city to plant her grapes, and make her winery. While she was setting up, a curious spirit came onto her vineyards, helping her tend to them. The spirit introduced himself as Vino, a Wine Spirit who was summoned to her vineyards. A rather odd spirit, but Vino and Wijn soon formed a bond that couldn't be broken. Vino helped her wines be more fresh and flavorful and also helped protect her vineyards from outside forces, such as infestations and weather. And Wijn soon had a very successful business forming, her wines selling all over Ilthorne. Thanks to her, and her lovely Vino. Wijn is a quiet Fae, usually keeping to herself and her business. She's not emotionless, though many others see her that way. She always perks up, when wine is mentioned though, and she is eager to match dragons to a wine of their choice. Wijn usually is herself around her partner and mate, Vino, who sees sides of her that others don't see. She's a businesswoman first and foremost, but even she has a soft side. |
