Molan

Molan is a rather quiet dragon, though he has quite a presence in the clan, being one of the biggest dragons.

Molan trained in the arena under Sulor and Nora so that he could his bulk to use defending the Clan, and when he finally left to seek his charge. The Clan noticed his large size, quickly growing to be one of the largest in the Clan (fifth, after only the three Imperials and Frostaithan), and he gained the nickname Thunderhead for his element, deep roar, and large size.

While training with Sulor and Nora he was exposed to some magic, that caused a few changes in his appearance, but nothing seemed to change about his personality.

During the Thundercrack Carnivale, he set off to find his Charge. There were... a few detours along the way, ending up in the 27th Hunger games.

Now that he has returned he's fiercely protective over Nightstar, rarely letting her out of his sight, which fortunately works as the Nocturne loves being near him. She attempts to help him in his workshop, as he has become the Clan Engineer and Inventor. He was inspired partially by Elvira, the Skydancer he met during the Games, and remains in contact with.

Molan is one of the friendliest dragons in the Clan, his laid back attitude allows him to get along with almost anyone. He and Gaila bicker and have their difference but they consider each other a friend. So the Clan was shocked when even Molan couldn't stand Colrath. He does not fight with Colrath, rather just avoids him, while Colrath tends to glare him. Molan understands Colrath, perhaps better than anyone, the pain of failing to defend your friends and allies is a heavy burden. However, he refuses to join Colrath in marching on The Scarred Wasteland, and Colrath sees this as unforgivable.

Lore

Molan had been thrilled to find Elvira again, he'd met the Skydancer not long into this whole mess, and enjoyed her company, helping her look for scrap and talking about this help wanted request she'd received. He had seen no such ad but being out looking for his charge, that was only natural.

They'd parted ways, only to run into each other again, and once more teamed up, only for the day they'd said, but that night they'd run into a few other dragons, and while Neva and Nautica had parted ways, he had stayed with Skydancer. He didn't trust himself on his own, after following a mirage, and ending up begging for a spiral to kill him. Once Kunik had gotten him some water he'd felt much better, enough to build a slingshot and practice.

And now he and Elvira had found Kunik, and he'd joined them, with three of them together Molan felt less homesick. They were allies, not quite friends, but he owed Kunik his life, and Elvira had been a trustworthy companion, perhaps, with a little luck maybe they could become friends. He would like that.

Luck was not in his favor though, as they headed further into a ravine. He slowed, his tail stirring the dust behind him, something was wrong. He hunkered down and glanced at the others, wondering they sensed it too. Elvira looked as unnerved as he felt, which only made him more nervous, straining to hear anything.

Then the three dragons leapt out. Molan stumbled as he recognized one, the spiral Nautica, who he'd cheerfully sung songs with one night, and who'd teamed up with him and Elvira just the night before. Her teeth and claws flashed and every instinct he had screamed one word. Protect.

He was a guardian, and submitted to his instincts, but he'd been too slow. Kunik fell under her teeth, and Molan let out a roar of anger and pain. Protect. He reared up to challenge the large Imperial, she let out a cry as his claws scored over her hide. Protect. He moved back, to try to shield Elvira, he was a Guardian, they defended, they protected, they weren't his Charge but his friends he would-

The Skydancer lay dead on the ground. Protect? No. No. No... Protect. Molan backed up away from the three advancing on him. No. Protect! He'd failed. What kind of guardian was he, how did he expect to protect his Charge... No! Avenge.

Molan reared up and let out a thunderous roar, summoning lightning around his claws, the Clan's nickname of Thunderhead had never fit more, Molan was the embodiment of an oncoming storm.

But even with training, three have the advantage over one. And they say a Guardian who has failed to defend his charge would rather wither and die then live with the disgrace of failing. Perhaps that slowed his blows, even as his fury sharpened his claws and fangs.

As he wrestled against the much larger Imperial, Nautica darted around him, biting and clawing scoring blow after blow, and the Skydancer's magic crashed against his flank, until he was overwhelmed, falling to the ground next to the two he'd failed to protect.
