Master Of Espionage, Ninja, and Thief

Kuroi's primary job is to keep the clan safe. He and a network of familiars keep tabs on all the goings on within and without the clan. Knowledge is power and he takes full advantage of it. Due to the clan's generally friendly standing and positive outlook, they don't really have any enemies. But Kuroi always keeps a keen look out in case any clans do start showing ill will towards them.

At one time he was mated with Rilue, but it was more of a convenience, we need more clan members and treasure arrangement. They were friends, but not in love. And at roughly the same time, as Rilue drifted towards Aoi, he was drifting towards a semi ironic member of the clan. Palomia. She was almost opposite to him and so many ways... Here he was a shadow dragon who lived in the shadows, took lives as needed, and was generally a little rougher around the edges. Then there was her... A light dragon and a healer with a warm personality to boot. Yet, they do say, sometimes opposites attract and nothing was more true in this case then that. It's why when Rilue fell in love with Aoi he was more then happy to let their mateship go and just be friends. In fact, he found it easier to be friends with her now that they weren't expected to be a couple.

Often he wondered why Palomia fell in love with him and even felt guilty at times for it. Surely, there was someone better for her then him, right? Yet, time and time again she would assure him that she choose him then go on to list why. He blamed his years of espionage for why he felt it difficult to believe her; yet, despite having to frequently remind him she never gets mad and seems to even almost find it cute.

History
Those might all sound like similar jobs, but each one has it's own set of skills, skills that he's mastered! Kuroi was born a clan of master of espionage. They had thief skills, ninja skills, and more modern spying techniques. Kuroi was shown to be gifted early on and soon became the pride of his clan. That was until... He slipped up... The clan took a risk; they wanted to break away from a powerful "alliance" which was more of a, you listen to me and we won't destroy you, kind of deal.

They needed dirt on them, powerful dirt; so, naturally, they sent one of their best in. Things seemed to be going well until an... incident Kuroi won't speak of happened... Practically everything exploded in his face and while he still managed to get the info they needed to break out of the alliance, his near failure not only dishonored him completely but he now had members of that clan after his head!

In a bid to preserve themselves, they kicked him out and told him to run far, far away. Which, might sound cruel but the alternative was a public execution to make amends. For a few long months he floated around from clan to clan, trying to distance himself from The Tangled Wood. Ironically, he ended up a short hop away in the Viridian Labyrinth. His clanship was bought by a fairly new clan and he worried for their safety... What if that one clan found him here...

However the longer he stayed the harder the idea of leaving became for him. Part of the reason he floated around do much in such a short span of time is because he was upfront with the clan about him being a wanted spy/ninja/thief. Many clans kicked him out on the spot, others tolerated him for only so long... It wasn't until he joined Kaliosa's clan that he found acceptance. For months he was reserved and guarded...

It wasn't until a member of the clan that was after him arrived and demanded to see all the members in their clan. A bold move, but one they could get away with due to their power and standing. Despite how warm and accepting they'd been of him, he fully expected them to turn him over. Yet, they didn't. Instead they hid him in a place only a nature dragon would even consider looking. Inside a tree trunk! Once the dragon was convinced he wasn't there he left. So moved was Kuroi by this act of loyalty towards him despite their own safety being at risk, he pledged to forever serve the clan in whatever way he could!
