Cyril is a very closed off member of the clan. Rarely is he ever seen outside the comfort of his den and if he is, it is often with immense discomfort. He's quite secretive, never willing to talk about himself with others and he never stays for forced conversations long. He would much rather hide in his den and play with magic or work on his apothecary projects.
Though, even with his natural skittishness, Cyril truly cares very much. He sticks out like a sore thumb and most would assume he's absolutely miserable, but the truth is, he very much enjoys living in a clan. He may not trust others with himself, but he sees how caring they all are and he is confident they will always look out for each other. Every day he is thankful for his freedom and he has come to truly admire Darrow for his kindness and composure. Zylith is his very world, but he is learning to branch out.

The Hewn City; a place where secrets thrive and most are wary to tread. It was here that Cyril was born, conceived and hatched in the confines of a ritual circle for the darkest of magic, put there by a cult of dragons skilled in blood magic. They had once heard tale of Darklings; beings from long ago, that had once served as guardians for sacred grounds, used to protect and also to kill. It was the violence that Cyril's cult sought, and so they put their plans into action.
Cyril's mother perished, having given her life force for to the single egg she had birthed. Cyril hatched just days after, a frail and feeble little thing. His cult never expected him to survive his infancy, after all he was a sort of experiment. Yet, he lived, a dark entity born of forbidden magic in the Lightweaver's lands. Being a creature of blood magic, Cyril was wild once he had his feet under him. In his first month of life, he involuntarily killed three of his cult members by sapping their energy and life simply by biting them in play. These deaths lead the cult to realize how dangerous a creature they had created. Cyril's affinity for magic was great and none were ready to teach him to control it, too afraid of dying in the process. As a result, driven by their growing fear and distaste, Cyril spent much of his younger life locked away in a cage, neglected and growing quite distrustful and skittish. Finally-- after a few years of torture and hate-- the young darkling was freed from his cage when a society of dragons found out about his cult and their blood magic escapades. They destroyed the cult with no hesitation, confiscating their tomes and scrolls and tools. Cyril of course feared them, as he had learned to do, and the society feared him as well. He was taken in by a talented mage who belonged to the society named Zylith. He looked after Cyril to be sure he didn't waste away or cause trouble, teaching him what he knew about control and balance so Cyril would not harm others unintentionally. Cyril learned quickly and any fear he had once held for Zylith faded away with each lesson. He learned to read, write, and speak the common tongue. His dabbling in medicine work began when Zylith became severely ill. Cyril studied every book on medicine he could find in his mentor's library and his first brew was a success. He cured Zylith of his ailment and found his natural call in apothecary work. Zylith taught Cyril much and cared for him deeply. He became the only being in Cyril's life that he absolutely trusted. The darkling was bound to him, both by his kindness and a natural attraction he felt. Even when Zylith's clan fell through and he was abandoned, Cyril stuck with him, gladly joining his side as they made their place in Darrow's clan.
