Mi Niña Preciosa
Written by Oncamimus

Moghaubhlhot was hatched on a day that would be sure to go down in the history tomes of The Scarred Wastelands. It was the day that Highest Broodmother Mythal of Plague finally hatched the first eggs of her first Brood. There had been 17 Broodlings hatched that day, and she was amongst the last, hatched 15th of the lot.

Her egg boil had been located upon the left wing of The Broodmother, next to a slightly larger egg. At night, when the cave was especially dark, and all were sleeping, from behind the skin over her eye that would eventually form into her eyelids, and past the skin of the boil her embryo grew within, she could make out the domed shape of another egg…though she wouldn't know what it was in her fetal mind, and within that egg, she could see a dark shape, which at night would glow a blinding blue. She would often stare at the light as she drifted off to sleep, drawing comfort from it.

When the fateful day she was destined to hatch on finally arrived. She watched behind closed eyelids as shapes wandered near to her egg and the lump next to her. She watched as they removed a shape from it's dome, and watched as the dome slowly flattened until it was no longer there. She felt something in her stomach and in her skin…that made her want to swirl around in her egg excitedly, but eventually calmed when she saw the bright blue glow illuminate. Whatever it was that made the comforting light was still around, and as long as that was true, she wouldn't ever have to worry.

Suddenly, the blue light was taken away and she watched it gain distance until it was barely noticeable. This caused her once again to have a fit, and she beat against the shell of her egg, though she felt weighed down by something upon her back. She attempted in vain to release herself from her egg boil prison, chirping loudly, until the shape holding the blue light returned. She chirped again in dismay, and without fully processing the action due to how quickly it happened, she found herself in a world of brighter lights, which made her squint. She was no longer in her egg, no longer covered in ichor.

The air was cold…not like it had been in her warm egg. She went to cry out, but felt as though something was caught in her throat. Instead she started coughing, eventually coughing up a bitter tasting secretion. It wasn't the slime within her egg…she knew that taste…this tasted different. Sounds were hard to process, but she was sure that whatever had a hold on her currently was making the noise.

She opened her eyes for the first time. Above her was the face of a green reflective creature, one with a brightly colored beak, though the words for that were presently unknown. She lifted a feathered wing to hide behind it, holding it closer to herself when the sounds from the creature became excited. She then became aware that she was on the move, and whimpered a little, unused to the extreme motion. A bear-cub like wail came from nearby, and a small padded hand pressed on her wing. She looked up over the top of it to get a face full of another creatures face, red eyes staring back at her. Another wail and the larger baby wrapped a tail around her own. She felt a sense of comfort, and that's when she realized that the baby was dimly glowing blue.

She had found her best friend, but her celebration was short lived…as she began to cough again.

༺༻

Growing up in the Brood had it's advantages, as well as it's pitfalls. For one of the smaller Fae in the Brood, as well as a rather sickly creature at that, there were possibly more pitfalls then advantages. It certainly didn't help that she had been born with two sets of wings, one feathered and one the typical web membraned of a fae, which growing up had created a sore spot within her. Hatchlings could be very cruel to one another, and even growing up within a shared Broodmind couldn't change that. She could sense some of her bullies were jealous, and that is why they ridiculed her so, but the knowledge couldn't stop the hurt it caused. Worse still, she had not become strong enough telepathically to block out any continued ridicule that may have leaked into the Broodmind…so it was constant.

She grew up very self conscious about her wings, which made it difficult to fly properly, but she also worried about her cough. The Plaguebringer had blessed her with a low immune system, which no matter what concoction Dretchroyaster shoved down her throat, never abated. She had a perpetual cough, made more embarrassing when coughing fits ended in neon phlegm projecting from her mouth. While The Broodmother had called her The Seraphim…these coughing fits had earned her the title The Seraphlegm. She wore a face mask from then on, to keep her from accidentally hacking something up and on to someone…as had happened one time…but she preferred not to think about that incident.

She also wore it to protect her friend Xhao, who she often sat upon due to her inability to fly. She had become her constant companion from the moment they hatched. So much so…that many called Xhao "The Mount", which had been meant to be an insult, but Xhao had only ever thought of it as an honor. Xhao would often tell Mogh, that she had to make her weakness a strength, a piece of armor against those who would be so small as to insult and tease her, that way, no words of theirs would be powerful against her. Mogh was a creature who wore her heart on her sleeve, and it was easier said than done. She admired Xhao for her fortitude.

One day, as they were heading to one of their last survivalist training sessions with Joao, a soft hollow wailing made Mogh jump. Tugging on Xhao's ear, Xhao stopped and turned to listen. But it was too late…

Mogh was struck hard, and the world faded into darkness...

༺༻

When Mogh awoke, she found herself in a dark cave, her small body was upon the cold damp ground, and she shivered and coughed a bit. This was not the Broodmother's cave…but one that was way different. The rocks didn't even feel the same, and she wondered where she was. She called out to Xhao, but no response came. There was a distant light up ahead, possibly the cave entrance and she padded toward it, very slowly making progress. She was about halfway there when she suddenly became aware that…while the link to the Broodmind was still there…they were faint….as if a great distance away…and she wondered with a growing sense of dread if she had hit her head so badly that it had damaged the link. She could barely sense Xhao…and could certainly not sense her location. She heard the familiar hallow wail behind her, and not taking any chances, bolted as fast as she could. As she exited the cave, the waterworks started. She was doomed. There would be no escape from this unknown land, not on her tiny legs. She had learned of this place from Joao, who said that it's terrain could be as difficult to navigate as the Abiding Boneyard was for outsiders.

She was somewhere deep in Dragonhome.

If you plan to resell the dragon later, please consider selling it with all items the creature was sold with.

Feel free to delete any unnecessary information fields, or reorder fields to organize in a way more pleasing to you! You may also feel free to change/update/reorder anything, including text colors, fonts, Hoarding and Inventory items. There are a few things I'd prefer to have remain as they are/relatively are for Lore/Copyright Reasons:

BROODNAME FIELD:
A Broodname is the name the Broodmother gives a Broodling upon reaching adulthood. Not all Broodlings are blessed by a Broodname, as only the strongest Broodlings of the bunch are bestowed with one. They hold untold Eldritch-like power, and those who do not have the strength of mind to withstand it, go insane upon hearing it. This is the name that the Broodling is known by with their Broodmother and with their fellow Broodmates, who all share a place in the Broodmind. You may feel free to change the name of this Broodling if you'd prefer the dragon to be known by a different name, but PLEASE do not change the Broodname in the Broodname Field. It is important for the lore of the dragon that it remains how it is. Please consider not deleting the Broodname Field.

HOARDS FIELD: Being a Broodling, these dragons are prone to hoarding any and all unattended eggs they come upon, with an obvious preference towards Plague Eggs. They usually have several locations where they hide the eggs, so that if one place is found and pilfered, there may be other safe stashes. These eggs may be given to the Broodling's Broodmother as offerings/gifts, or may be saved incase the glory and blessing of Broodmother is placed upon them. Broodlings hoard eggs with no variation on drive to do so based on gender or orientation, it is simply a basic and deeply rooted instinctual drive. They will protect these eggs with their lives, and if they die and their consciousness is severed from the Broodmind, other Broodlings will come to take the eggs, and communally stash and protect them in honor of their fallen Broodsibling. Please consider leaving the Plague Egg image in the Hoards Field. You may feel free to indicate the dragon hoards other eggs (so long as it doesn't go against lore) or change up the order of images etc.

INVENTORY FIELD: The Broodmother will often give gifts to those Broodlings who venture away from her. Broodlings may also get items and apparel as they adventure forward. This field has had the items given along with the dragon already added, however, the dragon does not need to wear any of them if you prefer them not to, though please consider putting anything on the dragon that may apply to their personal lore. Please do not delete these items from their inventory, even if they are not applied to the dragon. When reselling, please consider selling the dragon with the items, as lore may depend on the dragon still having those items. Many thank yous for your consideration of this.

BROODMOTHER FIELD: To Broodlings, the Broodmother is a living, breathing avatar of the Plaguebringer. Even if the Broodling is genetically linked to other dragons, the Broodmother will be considered their only "progenitor" or parent. The love and devotion a Broodling has for it's Broodmother is indescribably deep and unwavering. They share a mental link with the Broodmother (and a less clear mental link "pool" with their fellow Broodmates/Broodsiblings), which is as strong as if the Broodmother were talking to them directly. They can not shield their minds from the Broodmother, however, the Broodmother may put up a wall to block the Broodling from entering her mind/reading her thoughts if she chooses. This is considered an excruciating punishment, which often will manifest as physical pain, though it is purely psychological. It's not uncommon to see a shielded off Broodling writhing and screaming in pain until reunited with the link to the Broodmother. However, if a Broodling is heavily delinquent or dangerous to The Brood as a whole, the Broodmother will be forced to permanently sever links with the Broodling in question. This is extremely painful for the Broodmother and Fellow Broodlings who may morn the loss despite the offending Broodling's tresspasses, and occationally fatal for the Broodling. Those who survive, are akin to a Pearlcatcher that has lost it's pearl or had it destroyed. They will be a husk of an individual. They may even attempt to be adopted by another Broodmother (a common mental disorder by the name of Severed Broodfrenzy, attributed to Severed Broodlings though it has been recorded in non-Broodlings who may have delusions of Broodling Status), though they will quickly see at their first attempt that it is impossible, as a Broodmind Link can only be created between the Broodmother and her Broodling during the incubation and hatching process. In their frenzy to be readopted, they will act extremely irrationally, almost feral. They may harm other Broodlings from other Broods, the Broodmothers, or anything else they may perceive to be hindering them from rejoining a Broodmind link. This often leads to the Broodfrenzier's death, but if not, the Broodling will wander endlessly searching for that Link. Once a link is severed, it can not be relinked. Since the Broodmother plays such an important role for this Broodling, Please consider not deleting the field. If the Field is deleted...the dragon will be considered a Severed Broodling for Lore Reasons.

ALLEGIANCE FIELD: Broodlings and Broodmothers praise the Plaguebringer and seek to live according to her ways. Their Allegiance to her is unquestionable, even if they were born to another flight or have ancestors from another flight. They may praise other Deities, but none before the Plaguebringer. To Forsake the Plaguebringer is unfathomable and a Broodmother will quickly sever a delinquent from the Broodmind, which can be extremely painful for the offending Broodling. You may feel free to add other flags to the Allegiance Field, as it's not just a field for worship, but also a field for other flights the dragon may have earned honor or friendship with. However, please consider placing the Plague Flag above the others...or displaying it in a way that is of the highest honor.

LORE FIELD: The Lore Books and Bookend Images in this Field were commissioned by myself from OverTheWolf at The Library: Pixel Book Adopts (link located in Credits) specifically for the dragons of the event The Massive Brood Hatch. Please do not use these images with your other dragons, as these images do not belong to them and it would likely infringe on adoption rules. You may of course, adopt books of your own for your other dragons, or even add to the library of this dragon with more. You may feel free to swap out any bookends you may commission, etc. You may feel free to get rid of this Field all together...though...it would be a shame...since...this is a lore dragon... These books will eventually have links to lore. Check back to the event now and again to receive Lore Library Coding updates that you can switch out your current coding with for ease of Lore Field Updates!

MASS HATCH IMAGE, QUOTE, AND LINK: This is the Image of the Grinning Plaguebringer skull and outstretched wings, the quote underneath the image, and the link to the event underneath. You may feel free to move it elsewhere on the bio, and/or delete the quote. Please keep at least the image and the link to the event (preferably directly under the image) somewhere on the bio page. Not only will the link help you get to the Event to view any updates or other dragons for sale, but it also will help others to see the event and understand the significance of this dragon. Please do not use the Plaguebringer Skull image elsewhere without asking permission from me, Oncamimus. It is a personal image of mine and one of the few bits of fanart I've created for this place ^^; so it means a great deal to me >.>;

CREDITS FIELD: This is to honor and thank the people who have put in work to make this Bio possible! PLEASE DO NOT DELETE. Many things can only be used with permission and credit, and to Delete it would make this void, or just generally be rude to people who put in time and energy into making cool bio assets. You may of course add any further credits you may need, and I highly encourage crediting back to anyone who may help you flesh out the bio or do art for your dragon! Always support Artists (Drawers, Writers, and Coders among them! :3)
