personality history A newly grown Guardian wandered into the lair, pulled by her sense that her Charge was near. Upon entering the clan space, she found a wildclaw laying around the remains of a nest; two small wildclaws playing near him. He was clearly forlorn and heartbroken. She walked up to him and settled down beside him, her wing sheltering him. He looked up and asked who she was. She could only shake her head and pull him closer - she was mute. Strangely enough, the wildclaw didn't have pity on her for her muteness - he actually seemed to prefer it. He explained, briefly, that his mate - the one he had been with for over a year - had left the lair in search of the Windsinger. He was mourning his loss of her, knowing that she would never come back. They spent a fair bit of time together after that; Israfel telling his story to her and she listening to every word. She learned a lot about the wildclaw in those stories. As they were walking in the bamboo one day, a Pearlcatcher approached them confidently. Israfel greeted her warmly and explained that she was Ren, the Nameforger of the clan. She had heard that there was a new resident who had not yet been given an official name. Ren sniffed her once and nodded, proclaiming that her name was Eulalie, and much was yet to happen to her. The first thing to happen to her was an unexpected change in size. She didn't mean for it to happen - she knew that Isra's previous mate had been a coatl and she didn't want to cause him any stress, but she tripped in the storehouse one day and knocked a scroll off the top of a shelf. It unsealed as it fell and landed on top of her. She felt herself change, but she was eased to find that her connection to Israfel was still there - her need to protect her charge was still part of her (though only time would tell if that remained as time went on). She wobbled out to Israfel on her new, short legs and looked embarrassed. He laughed and told her it was okay! He always had a thing for coatls, and now the two of them could easily sleep in one nest, instead of Eulalie being wrapped awkwardly around the outside of it. She was relieved.
