Mantidea

Mantidea is a proud skydancer, her head held up high and her wings held aloft. But it detracts none from the fact that she is, in fact, rather hard to look at.

Her blue eyes are always wide open, and she has no pupils or sclera to speak of. Her body is all segmented oddly, like an insect. And like an insect, she has six legs, and a tail that appears more like an abdomen than an actual tail. No one asks if it functions like one, too. Though her front ones have rather nasty spines along her forearms. In her mouth, her teeth can all move separate from one another, allowing her to grind up her food without moving her jaw much at all. Her wings are pale, and lacking feathers. The wing membrane itself is nearly transparent, veins visible if seen in just the right light.

She's tentatively settled with the Guard. However, she doesn't appear to wish to fight. Instead, she and Idolomantis act as sparring buddies for those training for the fight. Her six legs make her hard to knock over, and harder to counter.

She's a generally friendly conversationalist, and more than happy to make friends.

Religiosa is her lifepartner, though whatever that means, no one is quite sure. It seems to be something on the cusp of an intimate relationship and a platonic one. Recently, the pair have gotten very close to Idolomantis, and he may or may not have entered into the same sort of relationship with the two of them. Even he doesn't seem to know. The two girls are very strange, but dote on the male mantidraconic ridgeback with every attention and praise.
