Biography

Athazoth
• demon possessing a doll

xxxTheme song: none yet
Battle Theme: none yet

Athazoth was brought into this realm by dragons with malicious intent. They wished for bloodshed and terror, and being a demon spawned near the ninth circle of hell, Athazoth gave them exactly what they wished for, and claimed the souls of those who summoned them.

They did not go back to hell though.

To escape being dragged back to hell, the demon hid inside a normal looking doll for years, slowly corrupting the doll’s appearance. Eventually, when they felt it was safe to leave their hiding spot they discovered they’d be bound to the inanimate object, which had not been a part of the original plan.

From that point on, Athazoth went from owner to owner, each one meeting a different, grim fate. That is, Until they somehow got picked up by Optix, who Athazoth saw as a bigger, stronger demon inhabiting a rather unsettling looking doll.

Optix… is not a haunted doll, but when he and Athazoth met he was a rather creepy-looking android. The demon obviously didn’t know much about androids or AI, so when he saw this huge, seemingly doll-like being casually strolling around they obviously thought the other was like them.

Athazoth began to follow the other around, who had taken notice but didn’t really react to it. This was… strange. Most times when a demon stalked another and the one being stalked was aware of it it would lead to a fight, unless…

…unless this guy was so strong that he wouldn’t have to worry about a lowly demon trying to kill him…

After that realization hit Athazoth tried their best to stay on the ‘larger demon’s’ good side, trying to do him all sorts of favors. The two occasionally exchanged words, though the larger being was… quiet most of the time.

It was a bit unsetteling.

Still, the fact that this larger demon was beyond powerful was something Athazoth not only assumed, but also experienced.

For example.....

The larger demon once set foot in ‘holy water’ and seemed to get hurt from it. The smaller demon had been nearby and felt a painful jolt when the larger being felt pain. As such it seemed obvious that whenever the larger being suffered, the enviroment suffered as well. What really happened is that Optix stepped in a shallow puddle and short-circuited as a result, and Athazoth was standing close enough to touch the water too, and got a shock as a result of it.

Another time, Athazoth was getting a bit sassy and demanded souls, only for the larger being to pick them up. For a few seconds or so the demon thought that the larger entity had grown tired of their bull and would end them, but instead a panel was opened in their back and two hard and cold items were shoved into the empty space before the panel was closed again. For Athazoth this had felt like Optix had somehow managed to take out a chunk of their flesh (somehow without hurting), put something within their body and then put their flesh back into place as if it had never been removed. Immediately after, Athazoth felt energized like never before- their hunger instantly vanished as did their need to consume souls. Whatever the larger being had done, it would sustain them for quite a while.

Athazoth figured those things that had been inserted were some sort of diabolical essence made from the souls of sinners, but in reality Optix just gave the haunted doll some new batteries.

But the one thing that really proved to Athazoth that Optix was an entity that was far, FAR beyond the demon’s power, was when he reanimated a corpse only to possess it when his current host’s body grew weaker.

Optix had taken the two of them to a large, abandoned building that seemed to be filled with what Athazoth percieved to be corpses. The larger being took one of these and dragged it over to a strange sort of...thing. It had similar lines and shapes as Optix’s old body, so Athazoth figured they were here for a ritual. After placing the ‘corpse’ in a certain indentation (in a strangely unnatural position) and getting in place himself, nothing seemed to happen.

Until barely three seconds later the ‘corpse’ opened his eyes and said something along the lines of ‘transfer complete’.

This… absolutely scared the living daylight out of Athazoth. Not only had Optix been able to ‘reanimate’ a corpse, but there wasn’t even a struggle or even a hint of obstacles when it came to taking over control. If the demon thought the android had been a powerful demon possessing a doll before, they now fully believed Optix was one of the lords of hell itself!

Which would mean that if they somehow messed up the results would be far from pleasant, and they were in deep debt with the diabolical lord.

As soon as that realization hit Athazoth went out, found an innocent animal to slay and pledged loyalty to the ‘powerful entity’ that was Optix using its blood. Though the being seemed indifferent about it, it would buy some time for the demon to come up with something that would please their new master.

To this day Athazoth still seeks to serve their master, partially because of their own selfish reasons, and partially because they have genuinely begun to enjoy the android’s presence. It has gotten to the point that if anything were to happed to ‘their lord’ Athazoth wouldn’t hesitate to drag every soul in this realm to hell and then themselves.
