Laurel grew up in the harsh wastelands of the (please choose anywhere in the Plague territory). Much of his earlier years were spent surviving, running, and fighting. He had seen things and done things that weighed him down, that began to affect everything he did. By the time Laurel was in his 30's, he suffered greatly from depression. His depression took its form as anger and rage. Constantly tired and worn out from years of harsh living and fighting to survive. He would lash out at almost anything and anyone. He became what would have been the poster child of a Plague Mirror was - hostile.

However, there was a stroke of good luck. One day, when Laurel was resting from a wound he had gotten from another dragon, a small Coatl passed by his cave. Instantly he bristled and did his best to appear threatening, but the small Coatl simply laughed.

"I'm afraid you're in no position to fight me," she smiled as she walked towards him. He noticed how strange she looked and how clean her white shirt was. And the smell. The smell that wafted off her was sweet, sugary, and it made his mouth water. And yet, it was even more reason why Laurel didn't relax, flicking his tail from side to side.

"Relax, I'm the last person who's going to hurt you," she said as she slowly moved closer.

She took slow and careful steps towards him, eventually getting close enough to look at his wound. She mentioned to him that she was just passing through on her way to the Shrieking Wilds for some ingredients. To make him feel more at ease, she explained how she was a baker in her clan and that in her opinion, they had the best healer. She even told him her name was Peach. She talked to him like a normal dragon, trying to make him relax, and eventually, the sweet sugary smell and her calming nature helped Laurel to calm down.

"Can I take a look at that?" she asked after they had been talking for a bit and Laurel, against all the parts of him saying no, said yes. That was the first time he had ever let a dragon close to him, in so many years.

Peach had given Laurel some food and helped to clean up his wound, promising to come back for him if he waited just a day. And despite his better judgment, he agreed. The wait had seemed like the longest
