Umbra's partner Nightsong is a fraction of her size, and they've divided up their jobs accordingly. While she makes large objects like armor plating and structural supports, Nightsong handles small items such as clasps, hinges, needles, and everyday jewelry. Due to her Fire element, she's barely affected by the heat of the forge. She readily handles hot metal without flinching, allowing her to work quickly.

Since her work is so messy, she sets aside her clan accessories until her job is done. She triple-checks her body before starting work, just to be sure. Once she was so distracted that forgot she was wearing them while working at the forge, and the expensive silks burned right off her body. Shula was aghast at this waste, and Nightsong never forgot this humiliating lesson.
