Biography
The Weary-Eyed Angel Theme: Blue and Green Music Purchased from the Auction House on June 14, 2018. Lore was written by his previous owner |
Tommy died centuries ago. He had expected to be met with the Gladekeeper, not completing the work of an exalted dragon but living among the others lost, in her paradise of nature. He would get to watch over his children, sent to the Gladekeeper themselves, until they too passed. It was a tranquil last thought. Instead, he was met with a city of clouds and swirls of color. He was given a new set of clothing by a manifestation of a dragon that had emerged from a swirl, and noticed feathered white wings adorning his own. He was unsure of what had happened, and tried to ask the manifested swirl, but it hastily vanished into a breeze. This was far from the peaceful thoughts he had dreamed of before passing. He wandered, lost among floating colors and white and grey pillars, occasionally catching a glimpse of movement. He thought he was seeing flashes of his life, his children, his mate, his death. He would have cried, if he was able to. Soon, he came across what looked to be an ornate palace, but could just as easily been a mirage. It shimmered in and out of view as he approached. Inside, he could only make out what looked to be a mass of shifting clouds, but was actually a deity. It was unlike any of the other deities, and did not speak in the same language as he did. He found no help in this deity, or even solace, and only began to question what he had known since hatching. Wandering back outside, he caught flashes of color and swirls shooting down through the cloud layers. Looking down at his own claws, he noticed them colored in a very slight rainbow blur. Was he a color swirl, as well? What were they doing, launching themselves at the clouds? Could he go back home? |
It took him ages, although he never knew exactly how long. Time was stopped in this clash of purgatory and paradise. But, once he finally figured out how to break through the seemingly endless layer of clouds and rain, he found he really could go home. By the time his claws touched the grass for the first time in eons, no dragon could recognize him. Many were intrigued by his speech patterns and strange wings, but hardly any spared him a glance. He stopped bothering to tell his story, as no dragon would ever believe him. Life back home was, once again, a crushing disappointment. In a fit of rage, he threw himself back at the cloudy skies and burst back into the empty land of the sky. He soon resigned himself to watching the dragons down below, by holding open holes in stormclouds.
More and more time passed by, seemingly all at once. He decided to make another trip to what was once his home, having been overcome with disdain for so long. He landed quietly on the grass of a meadow, surrounded by forest. Wearily, he began to stroll through the brush and trees. A gentle breeze that smelled of woodland and flowers hit him, and he realized how much he had missed anything but the cold, indifferent winds of the sky. Soft, serene music emanated from a nearby town. The sky was painted in ever changing hues of orange, pink, and indigo, and the leaves rustled gently. He kept walking, but would now occasionally stop to smell a patch of flowers or touch the bark of an aging tree. This was a home he remembered. He was forced to return to the sky after too much time had passed. He saw the rainbow smoke start up at his clawtips and knew it would be too late if he stayed any longer. But he made a promise to that forest to come back and remind himself of what it was like to feel, and what his life had been. He returns frequently, but never stays long. Once, he came across a little orange tundra accompanied by a murky blue one, and he followed them to a small village nestled in a dark corner of the forest. He calls it a temporary home for when he visits, and plans to remain there until the village itself disappears. |
