Lilliandil was born deep within ice territory to a small clan. In accordance with their customs, she was given almost immediately to another dragon in order to learn a craft or profession. The seer who determined the placements of the young had foreseen that Lilliandil had strong magic and substantial intellect, qualities that would make her good at various methods of healing. The dragon who took Lilliandil in was a skilled medic. Under his direction, she studied from books, from other medics, and from field experiences. Her studies taught her magical, herbal, and natural remedies for a variety of ailments. She considered it very lucky that she enjoyed the profession chosen for her, but disagreed with the idea of choosing for a child in the first place. Thus, once she was grown and fully trained, she left to find another clan where her skills would be useful and where her ideals meshed more with theirs. Here in her new home, she uses her magic and the help of her familiar to augment her more practical healing skills. In addition to outright healing magic, she uses the natural heat of the Molten Scar and the ice she conjures to ease the discomfort of her clanmates, reducing the need to dive into their limited supply of herbal remedies. In matters of disease and death, she often works with Duchess, the clan's mortician and oldest plague dragon.
She is quite shy, and takes time to form bonds with other dragons. She tends not to get along with the more nomadic clan members, as they tend to bring back a collection of untreated scrapes and bumps and the occasional seeping wound, and she feels a bit put upon; after all, these members are typically away from the clan, and although they bring back spoils along with their injuries, they generally speak to her only when seeking care. She gets along much better with the inner community of the clan, whose members she is better able to get to know. Among her hobbies is collecting effigies and relics of the Icewarden, who is her chosen deity. She gets along well with her mate (even if his materialism makes her roll her eyes) and misses her children who have moved on from the clan deeply. |
