"Too many dreams, too much lost. To many things to do and just not enough time. I need more time."

No one knows what your real name is anymore. You've lived too long alone and you've lost your friends ages ago. Your occupation demanded it, you told yourself, you couldn't commit to planting. The slightest error from another organism, the slightest touch of a bug, could damage your research data, because you observed everything.

_~*~Humble Beginnings~*~_

Your first foray into plant researching had begun at the ripe age of twenty. You had discovered a shining seed one night out in the woods.
A letter had been attached to it.
Letter wrote:
.rettel siht gnidnif fo kcul eht sah ohw luos etanutrofnu revetahw oT
.dees siht tnalp ,hcraeser ym eunitnoc ot hsiw uoy fI
.dees siht tnalp ,reverof evil ot hsiw uoy fI
.EVIRHT lliw ew ,rehtegoT

Gibberish, you had thought. And pocketed the letter away. The seed was still shining though.
Your first thought was to sell the seed. Any shining seed would sell for a pretty vente, especially to those crazies who frequented the town...

But you quickly perished the thought. A shining seed like that, if you grew it, surely you'd be able to make seeds that sold for more.

Money was of a great concern these days. Your mother and father barely made enough food the family. You barely made enough off late-night lumber-jacking to clothe your family.

You planted the shining seed in the ground.

Morning
Pops bought me this Journal on my last birthday. What was he thinking? We were already beginning to get short on Vente. What good does writing do, for Evir's sake? Two days ago he bought me some Ink because he realized I wasn't writing in this arumy journal. Evir, I was going to sell this thing for good Ventes. It even has arumy gold filigree on the edges. Evir, this thing would have given us a year's worth of food. Evir, now I have to write in this arumy expensive book. Evir, why can't we leave writing to the robe-crazies? Writing is expensive stymiet!

Evening
Pops caught me writing in the Journal this morning. I degriks he's so proud I want to throttle him. Evir, what's so arumy good about writing? You know how much ink I have? 500 arumy wells of ink in 10 boxes of 5 by 10. 500 arumy bottles. Evir, how much did that cost? Pops has got his personal stash of inherited money he refuses to use to buy food. Apparently he made a promise or something. I don't know about you, but that seems arumy stupid to me.

The sun's reached its arumy peak now, and I've got to go to the Flaxens' to do their lumber-work. Hack at arumy trees for hours. Then plant 10 seeds per tree hewn down. The pay's not bad though. The Flaxens and the rest are stymie rich compared to us.

Night
Got paid enough Vente to feed my family for a day. These guys pay by firewood cut and amury count to make sure the amount of trees I say I cut matches the Random Tree Seeds I plant. The more I cut and sow, the more I earn. I'm thinking of making a foray into the woods at night and cutting down some extra to stash somewhere, then spend less time cutting and more time sowing in the evening to get extra pay. I sure as Evirht am old enough for Pops and Ma to let me go out at night.
