Oneiroi
The Speaker of Dreams
We dream once, in wonder and innocence. The rest is history.

I have no body and I feel no pain
for I am no longer here again.
Now I can fly through-out the widest space
finally I'm set free from all my chains.
A farewell to heaven and a farewell to old hell,
from now on we shall never meet again.
Neither light nor darkness are here to know my way,
there'll be no more sadness and there'll no more pain.
I can fly, yes, I can fly and I'm no longer here,
may this old flesh stay down there forever,
I shall not waste a thought.

The Mistress

Oneiroi was born with a strong affinity for dreams; ever since he was a hatchling, he had been able to manipulate dreams, easily bringing beautiful dreams and nightmares alike to himself and those who surround him. However, as he grew, Oneiroi also recognized that his powers had grave limitations; he could never feel or touch the dreams that he had grown so fond of, or see past their most apparent substance. Depressed, Oneiroi started to withdraw from the world, and faded more and more from the waking Sornieth.
Neither truly living nor dead, and neither awake or asleep, Oneiroi’s fate appeared bleak. However, a dragon approached Oneiroi, and offered to help the skydancer reach his goal and unite with his beloved dreams. Feeling that he had nothing to lose, Oneiroi accepted the offer, and willingly underwent a complex ritual.
The dragon had recognized Oneiroi for who he truly was: a dragon not born from the flesh and blood, but a being dreamed into this world with the magic in his veins. Oneiroi’s soul, wanting to return where he had come from, could never settle down in life or become truly aware of the potency of his own abilities. The dragon preserved Oneiroi’s body, carefully placing the latter into a deep coma and utilizing his blood and feathers for her rituals to ensure the continuance of his sleep. Oneiroi’s mind, finally free of its shackles, could now jump from dream to dream and become what he always wanted to be - an everlasting dream.

They turn to each other and smile. It has been a while since they last heard what they always wanted to hear.

Oneiroi first encountered Antares in a dream, and befriended the dragon due to the latter’s strange and unusual mind. Antares’ dreams were so bright that Oneiroi could not help but crave to see more, and now Oneiroi is a silent and invisible member of the clan, a dream guide who guards the dreams of the clan and helps the clan’s dreamers when called upon.
