    Prince Argo's life has been a rags to riches tale. He was born to a destitute family who had taken refuge within Clan Scintillant. The clan is incredibly wealthy, yet Argo and his family have always been outcasts. After seeing his parents struggle to provide, he vowed that he would work his hardest to get them all out of poverty.

    As soon as Argo was old enough, he began to train in combat. He enrolled in a youth academy run by the Royal Guard of Clan Scintillant, and was pleasantly surprised to find that he loved it. Despite being an incredibly poor commoner, he respected and admired the royal family and aspired to become a real member of the Guard one day. He knew that everyone's place in the world is down to pure chance; children of royalty did not ask for the wealth, the public attention or the responsibilities. Nor did Argo ask to be born into destitution. Yet, he managed to use this to his advantage, becoming a very hard worker and always striving to better himself.

    Eventually, Argo reached his final year at the academy. One evening, after classes had finished, he was approached by one of his teachers. The tutor explained to Argo that everyone had been extremely impressed with his skills and dedication, and invited him to become a fully-fledged member of the Royal Guard after graduation. Argo jumped for joy and accepted immediately.

    A few years later, Argo came to the attention of the King and Queen. They had noticed that the young Pearlcatcher had been accompanying the royal family on a number of high-profile engagements and were always pleased with the way he carried himself. The pair asked his superiors for a little more feedback and were very happy to hear that he was a pleasant, industrious dragon by all accounts. Shortly after this, Argo was surprised to receive an invitation for a personal appointment with the King and Queen. He was incredibly nervous, wondering what on Sornieth he had done wrong. However, it turned out that he was to be introduced to their daughter, Princess Madeleine. Argo could not believe what he was hearing. The lovely, beautiful princess! He was delighted. Argo told the pair that he would be extremely honoured to meet Madeleine. It went well, and after a short courtship, the princess accepted his proposal of marriage and the two became a mated pair.

    The newly styled Prince Argo was a faithful, caring and loving partner to Princess Madeleine. However, he was saddened that she was often quite cold and distant from him. He felt that perhaps she had not wanted to be married off so young. Despite this, his affections never wavered and he tried his absolute best to please the princess. When he heard that her most precious piece of jewellery had gone missing in the shipwreck, he knew that he would find it or die trying. It was so important to the princess; maybe, if he was able to get it back, she would finally warm to him.

    Sometimes, when Argo and Madeleine were alone, he saw flashes of happiness across her face. There were moments where she seemed to let herself be, well, herself; Argo often wished that the pair could simply take some of their wealth and run away. He could tell Madeleine was desperate for a normal life, and knew that he could show her what this was like. And maybe, just maybe, he could finally make her happy. Yet, it wasn't going to be possible. Argo needed the princely income to support his family, and can't afford to leave the Clan. He's never stopped dreaming, though...
