Miyasi

The only hatchling of her clutch, Miyasi tried following her father's footsteps, only to become lost in the Scarred Wasteland. Found by the guardian dragon, Gatekeeper, she has found refuge in Clan Direclaw. It is unknown whether she is here to stay, or if her own clan wishes for her return. Ambitious in her own right, Miyasi is trying her hardest to become accepted by clan Direclaw as a shaman or medicine dragon. After losing two of her first three eggs in a flash flood, Miyasi has vowed to care for her one remaining hatchling. Two more eggs have been laid to her name, however only one survived. Now, some time later, her two sons remain close friends, and often work together for nearly everything. Her youngest has the freedom and privilege of gathering medicinal supplies for his mother's work. With one more egg to her name, Miyasi wonders if this will be her last, as she is unwilling to continue if she loses another.


"Gather around, hatchlings, and I'll tell you a tale. A tale of dragons long gone. This is the story of the Swiftwings, great mighty dragons with only two legs and two wings... It is said, long ago, they were among the first of our kind. They roamed mountains, and plains, forests and oceans, they were everywhere! But because they lacked arms, they could not do dealings with other dragons, and were mocked for it. Because they has no arms, they were chased away. Even the deities grew angry with them, and decreed all dragons should have at least two wings, and either four legs or two legs and two arms. Yet still sightings persisted of the once proud Swiftwings, some dragons say they saw shadows in empty parts of their lairs. Others say they saw a lone hatchling wandering the Marketplace. I've never seen evidence of them, but when spoken of outside of hushed whispers, they are said to not exist. But, sometimes dear hatchlings, you can hear their voices in the deep of night, carried on the wind, etched in stone, or in the currents of the seas. And if YOU see their shadows, do please let me know. There might still be one left, out there somewhere. ...Now, that's enough of a story for tonight. Go to bed now, hatchlings, you need your sleep."
